UN list of companies involved in West Bank settlements grows by a third

The number of companies doing business with settlements in the West Bank has increased by one third, according to a UN list that has been maintained since 2020. Sixty-one new companies were added to the list, bringing the total to 214 firms from 11 countries. Prominent among the group are travel firms and materials suppliers. European companies such as JC Bamford Excavators, Greenkote PLC, Booking.com, Egis, and Egis Rail are included.

France, the Netherlands, and the UK have warned companies involved in settlement tenders, such as the E1 project, that they could face sanctions. Some companies, like British-registered Opodo and Spanish-listed eDreams, have been removed from the list, with the UN finding reasonable grounds to believe they are no longer involved in the activities that led to their inclusion.

The UN report urges companies to respect human rights under international standards and take appropriate action to address any adverse human rights impacts.
