Ukrainian forces reportedly strike oil refinery 1,500 kilometers from border, Russian electronics factory

Ukrainian forces launched an attack on a Russian oil refinery situated 1,500 kilometers away from the Ukrainian-Russia border, along with an electronic components factory, according to monitoring channels. Eyewitnesses reported that an oil refinery in Perm was set ablaze following the attack, as documented by the Telegram channel Exilenova Plus.

Additionally, the Iskra electronics plant in Ulyanovsk, which produces components for communications and radio technology, was targeted, as reported by the Exilenova Plus Telegram channel. Reports also indicate explosions in the city of Voronezh, but it remains uncertain whether any targets were damaged. Ukrainian authorities have not commented on the reported strikes in Russia and the details remain unverified.

Ukraine has a history of striking military infrastructure deep within Russia and the occupied territories to weaken Moscow's capacity to continue the conflict. On the previous night, Ukrainian drones allegedly targeted oil depots in Russia's Rostov Oblast and Krasnodar Krai, according to local authorities. On September 23, Ukrainian drones struck an area near an oil refinery in Ufa, the capital of Russia's Republic of Bashkortostan, approximately 1,200 kilometers from the Ukrainian-Russian border.

Despite these strikes, Russia continues to carry out fatal attacks on Kyiv and other cities in Ukraine. Two individuals were killed and eight others injured when Russian ballistic missile explosions struck Kyiv on September 24, damaging a maternity hospital and residential buildings.
