Trump to wrap up Xi summit with a tour of US archives

President Donald Trump is set to conclude his summit with Chinese leader Xi Jinping by taking Xi on a tour of the US National Archives on Friday. At the archives, the leaders are expected to emphasize their views on the history and future of their countries' relationship. At the lavish White House state dinner on Thursday, the summit appeared to focus more on symbolism than substance, with no significant breakthroughs between the two global superpowers.

Despite this, Trump highlighted progress under a new bilateral trade arrangement, citing increased market access for US farmers and ranchers. Both leaders also identified artificial intelligence as an area for collaboration. They pledged to see some of the most significant treasures of US history at the National Archives, including the Declaration of Independence, the US Constitution, and the Bill of Rights.

Trump further stated that their two countries continue to foster a long-standing relationship through trade, learning, and cultural exchanges, which they are both proud of.
