Timing of MN Twins Asst. GM Departure Sure is Interesting

The Minnesota Twins have experienced several changes in their front office over the past year, especially following an underwhelming 75-84 season. Derek Falvey, who served as the president of baseball operations, officially joined the Mets as a senior adviser for baseball operations on Thursday. Jeremy Zoll, the general manager who had been working under Falvey, now holds the same position.

Daniel Adler, the assistant general manager hired by Falvey in 2017 and promoted to his current role in 2019, has mutually agreed to part ways with the Twins. Adler is expected to seek out other opportunities. With Adler and Falvey leaving the organization, Alex Hassan, Sean Johnson, and Josh Kalk are now the three remaining assistant general managers under Zoll.

The Twins' front office has largely been built in Falvey's vision, which ended in January when he left the team. Falvey, now a senior adviser at the Mets, could potentially tap into trusted allies to join him in New York. This move would be a significant change for Adler, who would be working for an owner willing to spend on acquiring talent, unlike the Minnesota context.
