Suzuki aims to halve vehicle development time by 2030

Japanese automaker Suzuki Motor announced on Friday its ambition to halve the development time for new vehicles by around 2030, compared to fiscal 2020 levels. In addition to this, the company aims to improve both development and production efficiency.

Suzuki targets a 30% increase in development efficiency and a 50% gain in production efficiency by 2030, according to their statement. The automaker plans to expand its annual production capacity in India to between 4 million and 4.99 million vehicles by the 2030 financial year or later.

Suzuki's shares rose by 0.9% on Friday, following a 1.1% gain in the Nikkei index.
