Shafee: Najib could begin house arrest as early as next month [WATCH]

KUALA LUMPUR: Former Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak made his first public appearance today since receiving a conditional pardon, which permits him to complete his SRC International sentence under house arrest. The 73-year-old, who remains detained at Kajang Prison, was escorted to the High Court this morning by Prisons Department officers under strict security measures.

Dressed in a light grey suit and white shirt, Najib's presence marked the first time he has been seen in public since the Federal Territories Pardons Board's decision was announced on September 18. The pardon allows him to serve the balance of his prison term until August 23, 2028, provided he adheres to specific conditions. However, Najib is still confined at Kajang Prison, as the implementation of house arrest has yet to commence due to the fulfillment of conditions, including a RM50 million fine payment.
