Samsung Galaxy A08 Lands In Malaysia With Helio G99+ SoC, 6,000mAh Battery

Samsung has officially launched its Galaxy A08 in Malaysia, following its brief appearance on SIRIM. Despite not being as powerful as its flagship rivals, the South Korean company asserts that the Galaxy A08 can still provide fast and reliable performance, even handling some AI processes.

The Galaxy A08 succeeds the Galaxy A07, which was introduced earlier this year. The two share many similarities, apart from a few key differences. The Galaxy A08 boasts a 6.7-inch HD+ LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It is equipped with an IP64 dust and water resistance rating, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a fingerprint scanner. While the exterior design remains unchanged, Samsung has upgraded the internal hardware, introducing a Helio G99+ chipset and an enhanced LPDDR5 memory, which Samsung refers to as "RAM Plus."

In Malaysia, the Galaxy A08 is available in a single configuration: 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The device is powered by a generous 6,000mAh battery, which Samsung claims can easily last a full day of use. The battery also supports 25W charging. The operating system, One UI 9, is based on Android 17, and Samsung promises six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates, along with Knox Vault protection.

The device features a dual-camera setup, with a 50MP main camera and a 2MP depth camera. On the front, there is an 8MP camera housed in a waterdrop cutout. The Galaxy A08 is now available in three colors: Green, Dark Blue, and Silver, and is priced at RM899. Customers can purchase the device directly from Samsung's website.
