S. Korea wins 3 medals on last day of swimming

On the final day of swimming competitions at the Asian Games in Tokyo, South Korea secured three medals, falling short of their impressive total from three years ago. Lee Ju-ho claimed silver in the men's 200-meter backstroke, finishing in 1:56.58, just 0.16 seconds behind Kodai Nishiono of Japan. Kim Min-seob added to South Korea's tally with a bronze in the men's 200m butterfly, marking his first individual medal in Tokyo.

The nation's efforts concluded with a bronze in the women's 4x100m medley relay, the last swimming event of the Games. South Korea's swimming performance in Tokyo yielded one gold, six silver, and 13 bronze medals overall. The country had already secured 22 medals at the 2023 Asiad in Hangzhou, China, including six golds. South Korea arrived in Tokyo aiming to replicate their success from the previous Games, but found themselves overshadowed by the dominant performances of China and Japan.

South Korea's top swimmers, Hwang Sun-woo and Kim Woo-min, both failed to win a gold medal, having combined for five between them three years prior, with Kim Woo-min notably absent from medal-winning performances.
