Rückruf: Risiko Lenkungsausfall – VW ruft eine Million Autos zurück

Wolfsburg – Nearly one million vehicles from Volkswagen and its subsidiary Audi in Germany may be affected by a problem, according to the German Federal Motor Authority (KBA). The issue stems from a screw breakage that could lead to a steering failure, as the data from the authority indicates. To resolve the problem, the steering mounting must be replaced with a corrosion-resistant screw, the KBA stated.

The ADAC had previously pointed out the recall. The affected VW models include the Tiguan, Touran, Golf Variant, Caddy, and Golf, produced between September 24, 2013, and July 1, 2024. Globally, the potential affected vehicles number nearly 2.16 million, with around 900,000 in Germany. The same issue is also present in the Audi Q3, produced between October 31, 2017, and May 23, 2024.

Worldwide, nearly 700,000 vehicles are potentially affected in this case, including 58,555 in Germany. This recall ranks among the largest in Volkswagen's recent history, comparable to the diesel scandal when around 1.4 million German vehicles were recalled. The previous largest recall this year concerned the batteries of various ID models.
