Right-wing activists threaten, throw object at Bennett at Bnei Brak restaurant

Former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett was removed from Motis restaurant in Bnei Brak on Thursday evening following a disturbance that erupted during his visit. An object was thrown towards Bennett but it did not land on him, and the individual who allegedly threw it was apprehended by the police.

In response to the incident, Bennett's B Yachad party released an official statement. It read: "Former Prime Minister and Chairman of the B Yachad party, Naftali Bennett arrived in Bnei Brak tonight. He held a parliamentary session with several yeshiva students, and the discussion was conducted in a constructive and substantive manner. After approximately half an hour, a group of political activists arrived at the scene."

Two projectiles were hurled towards Bennett, one of which struck the head of one of his female staff members. She was immediately treated by a Magen David Adom team at the scene and was released without requiring further medical attention. Afterward, Bennett conversed with her and confirmed that she was feeling well.

Security forces present at the scene apprehended the suspect in the attack. Bennett expressed his gratitude to the security and rescue services for their prompt response. He intends to continue holding meetings across the country as part of a campaign aimed at revitalizing the State of Israel.

Police authorities reported that no one was hit by the thrown object. According to a police statement, a passerby who walked by the restaurant threw an object that did not strike the individual. Officers from the Bnei Brak and Ramat Gan police station, who were at the scene, immediately arrested the suspect and took him for questioning at the police station.

Footage from the scene showed a crowd gathering outside the restaurant, and a disturbance developing during Bennett's visit. Right-wing activist Mordechai David was among those present at the scene. He was captured on camera arriving at the location and engaging in a verbal altercation with Bennett and those around him. Footage also showed large groups of people congregating near the former Prime Minister while police worked to maintain order.

During the exchange, Bennett addressed David, saying, "I suggest you get drafted quickly because from the moment I become Prime Minister, you won't receive a single shekel from the state."
