The playoff-bound Cubs and Red Sox will travel to Florida after Friday's doubleheader's nightcap. Boston secured a 4-3 victory in the opener. The Red Sox are aware they will kick off their American League wild-card series against the Yankees in New York on Tuesday. The Cubs' opponent in the National League wild-card series remains to be decided.

The Red Sox informed ticket holders that those purchased directly from the Red Sox will be refunded automatically. The announcement follows the Red Sox's 4-3 triumph over the Cubs in the first game of a day-night doubleheader. Roman Anthony had a standout performance, going 3-for-3 with three RBIs, including one on Connor Wong's tiebreaking double in the seventh inning.

Wong contributed with a two-run single in the fifth inning, tying the game. Greg Weissert pitched a scoreless inning of relief to help secure the win. Raymond Burgos saved the day, striking out three of the final six batters. Alex Bregman returned to Chicago's lineup just five days post-surgery for multiple facial fractures sustained from a foul ball.
