Rais charged with sedition, Najib back in court after conditional pardon [WATCH]

Former Dewan Negara president Tan Sri Rais Yatim was charged with sedition in connection to the current Negri Sembilan constitutional crisis, according to the source. The 84-year-old was accused of making seditious statements regarding Tunku Nadzaruddin Tuanku Jaafar being crowned the 12th Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan.

Rais pleaded not guilty at the Ayer Keroh Sessions Court to the charge under the Sedition Act 1948, which carries a maximum penalty of three years in jail, a fine of RM5,000, or both upon conviction. The court case was set for mention on October 27.
