Qatar Chamber participates in Malaysia International Halal Showcase 2026

Doha, Qatar - The Qatar Chamber recently joined the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS 2026), which took place in Kuala Lumpur from September 23-26. The delegation was led by Dr Mohamed bin Jawhar Al-Mohammed, a QC Board Member.

The purpose of the QC's involvement was to foster collaboration between the Qatari and Malaysian private sectors, identify trade and investment opportunities in the halal economy, and connect Qatari companies with global partners. Dr Al-Mohammed toured the exhibition and met with officials from MATRADE, as well as numerous Malaysian and international companies.

During his meetings, Dr Al-Mohammed and other officials discussed expanding economic and trade ties between Qatar and Malaysia, with a focus on private-sector partnerships in food industries, halal products, logistics, technology, and investment. The QC Chairman emphasized the strong economic relationship between the two nations and expressed optimism about the potential for further cooperation.

He noted that the halal economy has expanded beyond food and beverages to include pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, tourism, logistics, technology, and packaging. Dr Al-Mohammed highlighted that MIHAS serves as a vital platform for connecting producers, exporters, importers, investors, and buyers from around the world. The Qatar Chamber aims to facilitate partnerships for Qatari companies and explore joint investment opportunities across halal-related industries.
