Pakistan airstrikes destroy 10 drone bases in Afghanistan

On September 23, Pakistan conducted airstrikes on 10 drone bases in Afghanistan in response to an attempted drone attack from Afghan territory. The Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, announced these strikes as part of Operation Ghazablil Haq. Tarar highlighted that the targeted facilities were used for launching and storing drones, which were linked to terrorist attacks against civilians in Pakistan and an attempted drone incursion on September 23.

He emphasized that Pakistan's air defense systems had detected and neutralized all intruding drones before they could reach their targets, effectively thwarting the attack. Pakistan strongly condemned the drone incursion, calling it a deliberate and unlawful violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity. Tarar stated that Pakistan had previously informed the Afghan Taliban regime about the presence of terrorist sanctuaries and support networks in Afghanistan, but the regime had failed to take action against these elements.

Instead, the Afghan Taliban escalated the situation through hostile drone operations. Pakistan's retaliatory strikes were precise, calibrated, and limited to identified military objectives directly linked to the attempted attacks. Tarar warned that Pakistan would not accept or tolerate attacks originating from Afghan territory and would respond with decisive action.

He urged the Afghan Taliban regime to cease hostile activities against Pakistan and take effective, concrete, verifiable, and sustained action against terrorist entities operating from Afghan soil.
