NCC cadets of Maris Stella College stage anti-drug street play at Vijayawada railway station

On Friday, NCC girl cadets from Maris Stella College in Vijayawada staged a street play at the railway station to spread awareness about the dangers of drug abuse. The performance, organized as part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA), gathered the interest of numerous passengers and members of the public who paused to watch the play.

A total of 100 cadets took part in the campaign. Through the dramatization, the cadets emphasized the detrimental effects of drug addiction and urged young individuals to abstain from narcotics. They concluded their performance by pledging to contribute to a drug-free India, echoing the campaign's slogan, “Say No to Drugs”.

To bolster the anti-drug message, the cadets formed a human chain around the railway station premises. They also distributed pamphlets containing information on the risks of drug abuse and engaged in conversations with the public. This initiative was carried out under the auspices of the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Directorate, Kakinada Group, and the 4(A) Girls Battalion NCC, with Col. Praveen Yadav serving as the Commanding Officer.

Captain Shailaja, the Associate NCC Officer, played a pivotal role in coordinating the activities. The college principal, Sr. Inyasamma Gade, provided support and encouragement for the campaign. The organizers extended gratitude to Kakinada Group Commander Col. Rithin Mohan Agarwal and the Deputy Director General, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Directorate, Major General Narsingh Sailani for their guidance and support.
