NAGRAT calls for probe into alleged inflation of School Feeding enrolment figures

The National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) has urged for a thorough investigation into allegations of inflated enrolment figures in the National School Feeding Programme, according to its President Jacob Anaba. Concerns were raised by the National Coordinator of the programme, Hajia Fati Forgor, who accused some head teachers of exaggerating pupil numbers to receive larger allocations, potentially sidelining schools in dire need of support.

Anaba stressed that this manipulation of figures is a serious abuse of duty that defrauds the state and undermines the programme's goals. He emphasized that an audit is necessary to ascertain the true number of pupils in beneficiary schools and ensure allocations are based on accurate data. Anaba also highlighted the importance of nutritious meals served to students under the programme, calling for attention to their nutritional quality.

He stressed that the programme is crucial for increasing student participation in school and must be implemented transparently and effectively.
