In three starts against the Lions during his Seahawks tenure, Smith racked up 1,043 passing yards, five touchdowns, and added 107 rushing yards. Campbell emphasized that Smith remains a dangerous force, capable of making long throws downfield and sustaining the offense despite defensive pressure. Smith's performance in New York has been impressive so far, with a completion rate of 70.8% and two touchdowns in two games.

The Lions are currently dealing with injuries to key players, with Thomas Harper and Ben Bartch missing practices due to ankle and foot injuries, respectively. Campbell indicated that the team will need to adjust their defensive strategies to counteract Smith's skills, as his presence remains a significant challenge for the Lions.
