Let legal sense prevail — Hafiz Hassan

On September 25, the revocation of the appointments of 10 state executive council members, known as excos, was officially announced in the state government gazette. The revocation, effective September 20, 2026, barred these 10 individuals from entering their offices at Wisma Negeri. Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim had called for a review of the barring, but such a review would be counterproductive as it would overturn the revocation.

The gazette holds significant legal weight as an official publication of the government, serving as a legal notification to the public and providing evidence of the revocation. The revocation cannot be solely based on an order from the Ruler, as stated in Article 38(2)(b) of the State Constitution. Instead, the Ruler must receive a list of candidates for the excos appointment.
