Knicks' Jalen Brunson says he's fully cleared after offseason surgery

Knicks guard Jalen Brunson announced he is fully recovered from offseason wrist surgery, ready to begin the regular season on Oct. 5 against the 76ers. During a live appearance on The Roommates Show with teammate Josh Hart, Brunson stated he had undergone the procedure back in July but had played through the injury during the playoffs.

SNY's Ian Begley had reported the rehab process would take about two months. The injury occurred late in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals, though Brunson still managed to score 19 points in the 109-93 victory that gave New York a 2-0 series lead. He continued playing through the injury for the remainder of the playoffs, leading the Knicks to their first NBA Championship in 53 years.

Brunson averaged 28 points and six assists in the postseason, including a career-high 45 points in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, which helped the team clinch the title and secure NBA Finals MVP honors.
