King signs collective agreement with Swedish trade unions following call to industrial action last week

Following a call for industrial action last week, King has signed a collective agreement with Swedish trade unions Unionen and Sveriges Ingenjörer. The unions sought an agreement that would provide job security and greater influence over workplace terms and conditions. The agreement, reached after over a year of negotiations, represents a significant victory for Unionen members at King, according to Unionen's head of negotiations, Martin Wästfelt.

The members had been steadfast in their demand for a collective bargaining agreement, despite facing a challenging journey. The success is also attributed to a strong partnership between Unionen and Engineers of Sweden, demonstrating that collective action can lead to real change in the tech and games industries. Unionen branch board member Henrik Jonsson expressed his pride in the members, highlighting the long fight for the agreement.

King's chief operating officer, Ulrika Högberg, stated that the company remains committed to a respectful and transparent dialogue on employee matters. King president Todd Green acknowledged that the decision to reject the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) was not made lightly, emphasizing the company's commitment to continued open and constructive dialogue with trade unions.
