Julión Álvarez Pays Tribute to Mariachi With New EP ‘Ranchero de Corazón’: ‘Mariachi Is Sacred to Me’

Guadalajara native Julión Álvarez, the Latin music star often called "El Rey de la Taquilla," has released his second EP, Ranchero de Corazón, on his own label, Copar Music. The project, which was produced by Álvarez, is a tribute to mariachi music and includes four songs with traditional arrangements and his signature voice. Álvarez, whose two concerts at Estadio Jalisco are scheduled for September 25 and 26, told Billboard that mariachi holds a special place in his heart, as he recently embraced the charro suit and its proper attire with the guidance of his colleagues.

The EP's title track, "Llévala a la luna," and the album's producer, Alfonso de la Cruz Pecas, a longtime collaborator, worked together to create a project that holds extra significance for Álvarez, who recently became a father in his hometown. Álvarez, who has sold out three consecutive concerts in Los Angeles and appeared on Billboard's list of The 75 Best Regional Mexican Music Artists, celebrated the release with a private event at the Baruk Hotel de Autor GDL, where he mingled with guests, danced, and even sang on stage.
