Jangan salahkan ‘kerajaan terdahulu’, Aminuddin beritahu Ismail

Former Negeri Sembilan Chief Minister Aminuddin Harun has called on Ismail Lasim to provide clarity to the public and cease accusing the previous government, due to the tumultuous state of the state's monarchy institution. Aminuddin urged Ismail to explain why he signed the proclamation document related to the Yang di-Pertuan Besar on August 3, while he himself refused to sign it in April due to concerns over the legal process.

According to him, the 19 April proclamation document was presented to him for signing under Section 10 of the State Institutions of Negeri Sembilan (SI-NAS) 1959 Ordinance. However, he decided not to sign it after discovering serious issues with the process, including the dispute over the position of one of the parties involved as the Sungei Ujong Land Office.

"The question is, if I, as Chief Minister, could make the decision not to sign the document due to my doubts about the process, how can a later Chief Minister sign the same document?" he wrote on Facebook. Earlier today, Ismail said in a media briefing that the turmoil involving the Negeri Sembilan customary law and the king's institution is not caused by the previous administration's governance, but is inherited from the failure of former Chief Ministers to discharge their responsibilities according to SI-NAS.

Aminuddin also added that he supports the National Attorney General's Office's (AGC) decision of September 17 that the proclamation dated April 19 is invalid due to its failure to comply with full mandatory inquiries under Section 10 of SI-NAS. "The AGC also emphasizes that the Chief Minister and State Council do not have unilateral power to empty the Yang di-Pertuan Besar's position.

In a case involving SI-NAS, State Customary Law and the Yang di-Pertuan Besar's institution, explanations to the public must be based on facts, processes, and real records. Do not manipulate the situation to absolve yourself," he said.
