Goldy Brar gang operative caught hiding in Ahmedabad: ‘He wanted to start a new life’

Aarif, known as 'Pistol', a suspected Goldy Brar gang member, evaded law enforcement for years by frequently changing his residence and hiding his identity. He turned to Ahmedabad in search of a fresh start, aiming to become an auto driver under a new identity, according to Ajit Rajian, Deputy Commissioner of Police. Police sources revealed that Aarif had criminal records spanning over 11 serious cases, including allegations of attempted murder, firing, and extortion.

He was apprehended in Vejalpur, Gujarat, in the early hours of Thursday by a joint team comprising the Ahmedabad Crime Branch, Ahmedabad Rural Special Operations Group, and Delhi Police. The operation was initiated after receiving an input from Delhi Police about Aarif's presence in Ahmedabad. Police stated that Aarif was a foot soldier in the Goldy Brar gang and had been playing a crucial role in executing threats and extortion demands.

Brar, whose real name is Satinderjit Singh, is a designated terrorist by the Indian government under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
