FIR against Cockroach Janta Party over ‘AI-morphed photo’ of woman alongside Modi's image

A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) for allegedly exploiting a woman's AI-manipulated image and displaying it alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi's photo during a protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar. The 25-year-old content creator, who resides in Budh Vihar Phase 2, expressed extreme distress, fear, and trauma caused by the photograph allegedly created by "specific organizers and key functionaries of the CJP protest." No immediate response was given by the CJP at the time of reporting.

In her complaint, the woman named CJP spokespersons Abhijeet Dipke, Ratna Singh, and Saurav Das among others, alleging that her photos were used both online and at the protest site. The FIR, registered at the cyber police station in New Delhi district, was filed under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Information Technology Act.

The woman alleged that during the recent CJP protests at Jantar Mantar, certain disreputable demonstrators and organizers illicitly obtained her personal photograph and used digital manipulation tools to superimpose her face onto an image alongside the Honorable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, creating a false, compromising, and sensationalized picture.

The woman contended that the CJP displayed, waved, and paraded these banners in front of large crowds at Jantar Mantar, making derogatory slogans and vulgar, sexually suggestive comments against her in full public view. She also stated that they recorded close-up videos of these posters and slogans at the scene and deliberately published them on social media to make them viral, without her consent. Police have stated that they are investigating the case and have received photos and videos as evidence in the matter.
