The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted continued heavy to very heavy rainfall in Odisha and Andhra Pradesh from Friday to Saturday. A deep depression lies over south Odisha and adjoining south Chhattisgarh, causing light to moderate rainfall throughout Andhra Pradesh, with heavier rainfall in isolated places. Chhattisgarh may also experience isolated heavy rainfall on September 25, and isolated heavy rainfall on September 26.

The weather system made landfall between 11 pm on Wednesday and 1 am on Thursday, subsequently weakening into a depression. Fishermen are advised not to venture into certain areas of the Bay of Bengal till Friday morning. The IMD warned of rough sea conditions and advised people to stay indoors, avoid going outdoors, and take shelter in safe places.

The deep depression has affected several districts in Odisha, prompting the state government to evacuate people from vulnerable areas.
