Explosion near Greece's Acropolis injures at least 2 people, collapses 1 building

Athens, Greece experienced a powerful explosion in the tourist district of Plaka near the ancient Acropolis on Friday morning, resulting in the collapse of a building and injuries to at least two people, according to authorities. The fire department reported that the blast occurred in an old two-story building in Plaka, the historic part of Athens situated at the foot of the Acropolis hill, Greece's most visited ancient monument.

The building itself collapsed, while neighboring structures sustained damage. Rescuers, including firefighters, managed to extricate two women from an adjacent building, and both were subsequently transported to a hospital. Local media sources suggested that a passerby also sustained a minor injury from the explosion.
