EPL: Man City found guilty of 114 financial charges, faces sanctions

Manchester City have been found guilty of 114 out of 115 charges brought against them by the Premier League over alleged financial breaches, according to The Athletic. The independent commission delivered the verdict after a lengthy investigation into the club’s finances between 2009 and 2018. One charge was dismissed. The Premier League initiated the case in February 2023 following a four-year probe into alleged breaches of its financial regulations.

The charges spanned nine seasons and included allegations of inaccurate financial reporting and improper financial dealings. Despite consistently denying wrongdoing, City have stated that they did not breach the Premier League’s regulations. A City spokesperson noted that the Premier League process remains ongoing and that significant elements are still to be completed.

The club plans to appeal the commission's decision, with the outcome of any appeal expected to determine the final sanctions City may face.
