El-Rufai’s Ex-Ally Promises To Deliver 11 LGAs To APC

Former Chief of Staff and a political ally of ex-Governor Nasir El Rufai, Alhaji Bashir Sai'du, has pledged to deliver Zazzau emirate to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in upcoming elections. Recently defecting from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) with his supporters, Alhaji Bashir made the promise during a meeting with Special Adviser on Domestic Affairs, Hon Isa Lawal.

Speaking about his commitment to APC, Alhaji Bashir vowed to outperform past election records in Zaria local government and promised more votes for APC than President Buhari received in previous elections. He also stated that there are approximately 3,091 ADC members in Lere local government planning to join APC. Alhaji Bashir assured that he has political standing in Zaria, Igabi, and Kaduna South local governments, with his supporters being trusted and dedicated individuals.

He has already joined APC with 10,000 of his supporters, and they are working on strategies to win the upcoming elections. Alhaji Bashir emphasized that his supporters believe in him politically and that they have been meeting to discuss ways to secure a favorable outcome in the polls. While the state government will plan independently, Alhaji Bashir hinted that cooperation is possible if required.
