Do Ghana to launch The Great Ghana Day Out on World Tourism Day

On Sunday, 27 September 2026, Do Ghana, a domestic tourism movement spearheaded by WangoWango, will introduce The Great Ghana Day Out as part of World Tourism Day celebrations. This initiative aims to encourage Ghanaians to explore their own country, rediscover its diverse offerings, and share their experiences. Supported by Joy FM and Joy Prime, The Great Ghana Day Out is set to be the beginning of a series of journeys, experiences, storytelling, and audience participation throughout 2026 and into Ghana's 70th Independence anniversary year in 2027.

The core message of the program is a simple invitation: go somewhere in Ghana - it could be a neighborhood walk, a visit to a historical site, a new dining experience, a day at the beach, a trip to the countryside, a family outing, a farm visit, a cultural exploration, or simply an encounter with an unexplored place. Participants are encouraged to document their experiences, with Joy FM and Joy Prime providing on-air conversations, audience participation, destination features, and stories from across the nation.

The launch will be followed by "Tell Us Your Ghana" on Monday, 28 September, inviting audiences to share the places, experiences, and stories that make Ghana meaningful to them. The program's flagship initiative, ODUM: The Story of Ghana, will be hosted by BENTSIFI and will feature curated journeys and cultural encounters through Ghana's landscapes, agriculture, foodways, communities, histories, culture, and living heritage.

ODUM aims to create a meeting point between tourism, agriculture, food, culture, and enterprise, serving as an independent private-sector initiative that brings together partners from tourism, agribusiness, corporate, media, cultural, and institutional ecosystems.
