Diplomatie: Xi und Trump wollen sich im November in China treffen

US President Donald Trump has accepted an invitation from Chinese leader Xi Jinping to meet in China in November, followed by a December appearance at the G20 summit in Miami, Florida. Xi and his wife, Peng Liyuan, were returning to China after a state visit. Xi made this announcement during a tea ceremony at the White House in Washington.

Xi had previously stated that there were two potential meeting dates in 2023 - one at the Apec economic summit in China, and the other at the G20 summit in the US. Xi invited Trump and his wife to visit China. Xi traveled to Washington for a three-day state visit, which focused on global conflicts such as the Middle East situation and the war in Ukraine, as well as the trade dispute between the world's two largest economies.

The US and China are set to host the Apec summit in Shenzhen, a southern Chinese tech hub. The US is hosting the G20 summit in Miami, Florida in December. The summit of the APEC countries is scheduled for mid-November, and Russia's President Vladimir Putin has also announced his attendance. However, a possible trilateral meeting between Xi, Trump, and Putin has not been confirmed.

In the past, Trump used the Apec summit in South Korea to meet with Xi, but they did not meet in Gyeongju, instead settling on Busan, which is known for the Busan Agreement that established a ceasefire in the ongoing trade dispute.
