Delhi HC issues notice to Dipke, others over 'AI-morphed photo' of woman next to PM Modi, orders takedown

The Delhi High Court issued notices to Abhijeet Dipke, a convenor of the Cockroach Janta Party, and his spokespersons Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka over a plea filed by a woman alleging that her images were morphed with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during CJP protests. The court also directed Meta to remove the objectionable content from social media platforms managed by it.

Justice Girish Kathpalia emphasized that the matter is not just about a woman but the Prime Minister of the country. The court ordered the Delhi Police to provide complete protection to the woman, who had alleged receiving threats due to the circulation of the images, and requested her address to be kept confidential. The woman's petition sought the removal of the fabricated pictures that purportedly showed her face alongside Prime Minister Modi, which were allegedly created using deepfake technology during recent protests by the Cockroach Janta Party.
