Dax aktuell: Dax notiert im Plus – Ölpreise sinken wieder

Düsseldorf – The German benchmark index Dax surged into positive territory on Friday, buoyed by hopes of a rapprochement between the warring parties surrounding the Persian Gulf. By the afternoon, the Dax had climbed 0.6 percent to 25,426 points. On Thursday, the Dax had ended the trading day 0.6 percent lower at 25,267 points. According to simultaneous media reports, American and Iranian negotiators are considering a step-by-step withdrawal from the war in New York, which would see the reopening of the Hormuz Strait by Tehran and the lifting of the economic blockade against Iran by Washington.

Iranian Foreign Minister also announced a new proposal for resuming negotiations on ending the war at the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. Consequently, prices for crude oil fell sharply. Brent oil and US oil WTI each declined by 1.2 and nearly 2 percent respectively, at the start of trading in Frankfurt, to 105.32 and just under 92.74 dollars per barrel.
