D56 launched in Madurai: Dhanush, Vadivelu and SJ Suryah team up

Dhanush's 56th film, tentatively titled D56, officially began principal photography in Madurai on Friday. The ensemble cast includes Vadivelu, SJ Suryah, Preity Mukundan, and Vijay Kumar. Directed by Tamizharasan Pachamuthu, the movie reunites Dhanush with SJ Suryah, his memorable antagonist in Raayan, while also introducing comedy legend Vadivelu to Dhanush's career.

Sai Abhyankkar will handle the film's music, and the film is being jointly produced by Sithara Entertainments and Primark Productions. The pooja for the film took place at Maranadu Karuppanaswamy Temple, where Dhanush offered an 18-foot sickle to the deity, surrounded by his fans. Vadivelu revealed during the pooja that the delay in collaborating with Dhanush stemmed from a misunderstanding caused by a third party.

Dhanush's busy schedule has led to several upcoming projects, including a new film with AR Rahman, a film with PS Mithran and Kareena Kapoor, and Thamizh Murugan directed by Vetrimaaran. His next release, OM: Chapter 1, a bilingual action drama co-starring Mammootty, Sai Pallavi, Sreeleela, and Naseeruddin Shah, is currently awaiting a new release date.
