China's Xi optimistic about 'great' future for US-China relations

Chinese President Xi Jinping conveyed optimism regarding the future of US-China relations during his state visit to Washington. He described the understanding reached with US President Donald Trump as a unified vision for the two nations' futures, predicting a great future in US-China relations. Xi praised the visit, commending the warm welcome and arrangements.

The two leaders had discussed bilateral relations, economic and trade issues, and global topics during their talks at the White House. Xi stressed the need to translate the agreed vision into practical steps, maintaining cooperation while managing competition and differences between the nations. At the state banquet, Xi noted the visit had resulted in new understandings, occurring less than six months after Trump's previous visit to China.

Trump remarked that the agreements would benefit American farmers, particularly in agriculture, a key focus of the economic and trade understandings. Announced agreements included Beijing's commitment to purchase $17 billion annually in US agricultural products, along with commitments on soybeans, rare earth metals, and American aircraft. Both sides agreed to cultivate a constructive and strategically stable US-China relationship.
