BREAKING: Delta Education Commissioner, Police Orderly, Driver Accused Of Beating Deputy Director To Death

The Delta State Police Command arrested a suspect and launched a search for two others in connection with the death of Deputy Director in the Ministry of Secondary Education, Unity Ekpevbughe Adeda. The incident reportedly occurred at the office of the Commissioner for Secondary Education, Kingsley Ashibogwu, in Asaba. Lucky Adoh was identified as the arrested suspect, while Enos Attah and Oputa Okestine were said to be on the run.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, revealed this in a statement on Friday, confirming that the command was informed of reports surrounding Adeda’s death. The police acknowledged allegations that Adeda was physically assaulted by Attah, Okestine, and Adoh. The Command promptly initiated an arrest of Lucky Adoh and initiated a manhunt for the other suspects.

Commissioner of Police, Samuel Erale, ordered the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department to investigate the circumstances leading to Adeda’s demise. The investigation will scrutinize all available evidence, such as video footage, eyewitness accounts, medical records, and the actions of all individuals involved, to determine the facts and ensure that anyone found culpable is held accountable.

The Delta State Labour Congress shut down the Delta State Secretariat in Asaba, demanding an investigation into Adeda’s death, leading to the command's assurance that no one found guilty would be spared.
