Blackstone private equity chief Baratta in exit talks - Bloomberg

Blackstone Inc., a notable private equity firm, is reportedly in negotiations with its private equity strategies chief, Joe Baratta, to end his employment by the end of the year, according to Bloomberg. The news is based on insights from sources privy to the situation. If Baratta leaves, it will mark the end of a 28-year tenure with the investment firm.

Baratta first arrived at Blackstone in 1998 and oversaw its private equity operations for roughly 13 years. In 2024, he transitioned to a new position focusing on worldwide private equity strategies. Baratta has been an essential player and a recognizable figure in Blackstone’s capital allocation activities, serving as one of the most prominent figures within the firm's investment arm.

His departure follows other significant leadership shifts at Blackstone this year. Earlier this year, Nadeem Meghji, head of Blackstone's real estate division, and Jon Korngold, who oversaw growth strategy, both announced their resignations.
