Bill Clinton: 'There were lots of times when I wanted to ban the White House press corps'

The White House Correspondents' Association, representing various journalists, created the press pool decades ago to provide the public with a rotating roster of journalists covering the president. The pool typically covers the president's activities, ensuring accountability and transparency. When CNN was banned, other pool members refrained from participating, resulting in a lack of live video for several days before the video pool resumed operations.

The White House's recent decision to select its own pool members has further strained relations between the administration and journalists.
