Anambra debt: No quarrel with Soludo, says Peter Obi

Peter Obi, the former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, has clarified that he has no disagreements with his successor, Chukwuma Soludo, over the financial obligations related to projects implemented during Obi's tenure. Obi made these remarks after a recent controversy surrounding the financial commitments linked to development programmes. He stated that he is not interested in seeking the governorship again, even if the Constitution were amended.

The former governor, who was mourning the loss of his elder brother and friend, Chief Okey Ezeibe, emphasized that he had no intention of returning to the governorship. He reiterated that he would not pursue the office, regardless of any constitutional amendments. Obi assured the public that he had no disagreements with Governor Soludo or any other governor in Nigeria, adding that he would not seek the governorship again, even if the Constitution were amended.

Appealing to other political actors, Obi urged governors to allow presidential candidates and other candidates to campaign freely in their states, regardless of their political affiliations. He emphasized that voters should be allowed to determine their preferred leadership, and that political actors should focus on addressing Nigeria's existential challenges rather than engaging in distracting issues.
