4 Sarawak areas record unhealthy API readings

As of 2pm, four locations in Sarawak reported unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings, with Serian recording the highest at 174, according to the Department of Environment's Air Pollutant Index Management System. Kuching followed with a reading of 162, while Samarahan and Sri Aman recorded 161 and 156 respectively. Bukit Rambai in Melaka, Sarikei, Bintulu, and Larkin in Johor all reported readings of 90, 87, 86, and 85 respectively, all within the unhealthy range.

In contrast, Shah Alam in the Klang Valley, Johan Setia, and Cheras all recorded readings of 83, 80, and 78 respectively, all within the moderate range. Tanah Merah in Kelantan, Langkawi in Kedah, and Besut in Terengganu reported good air quality with readings of 46, 38, and 30 respectively. Healthy API readings are between 0 to 50, moderate readings are between 51 to 100, and unhealthy readings are between 101 to 200.
