30 partially clothed men found in frat basement in alleged hazing incident

Two 20-year-olds were arrested after police responded to a hazing incident at an unaccredited fraternity's basement, where roughly 30 young men were partially clothed and covered in food, condiments, and other liquids. The Madison Police Department received an anonymous tip about the event at the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity. Upon arrival, officers found the men in the basement, with several showing visible injuries consistent with physical abuse.

The room's thermostat was set to 81 degrees. Most of the men were 18 years old. Two individuals, identified as Brayden J. Klein and Samuel N. Vane, were arrested for hazing and disorderly conduct. The fraternity's president and vice president were present during the incident. No other charges have been announced. The University of Wisconsin and Alpha Epsilon Pi are investigating the matter.

The national organization stated it would cooperate fully with the investigation and expel any members found guilty of criminal conduct. Alpha Epsilon Pi emphasized that hazing is a betrayal of their values and pledged to educate members about their responsibility to "Be Your Brothers' Keeper."
