2027: Provide level playing ground for all political parties, – Otti orders security agencies

Abia State Governor Alex Otti has mandated all security agencies in the region to ensure a level playing field for all political parties to conduct their lawful campaign activities. During the monthly State Security Council Meeting, Governor Otti emphasized this directive, highlighting the upcoming 2027 elections. Following the meeting, CP Wilfred Olutokunbo Afolabi, the Commissioner of Police for Abia State Command, and Navy Commander MacDonald Ubah (Rtd), the Governor's Special Adviser on Security, assured the public of their commitment to a hassle-free electoral process.

Afolabi stated, "Governor Otti has made our task easier by emphasizing the need for a level playing field." He further directed that all political parties seeking approval for campaign activities must receive express permission. The Police Commissioner also noted that the command is well-prepared for a peaceful election season, following a recent security retreat.

Navy Commander Ubah echoed this sentiment, affirming that Governor Otti has granted full permission to all political parties to campaign without interference, provided they pay the required fees for public facilities. He warned that any actions threatening public peace would be dealt with strictly in accordance with the law.
