2027: Join APC if you want to back Tinubu, Zamfara gov tells Wike

Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has instructed the Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, to either join the All Progressives Congress (APC) or abandon the Rainbow Coalition. Lawal asserts that he cannot support President Bola Tinubu's re-election while backing candidates of other parties in the 2027 elections. During an interview on Channels Television’s Inside Sources, Lawal emphasized that APC governors' stance on Wike's cross-party platform remains unchanged, despite Wike's repeated defense of the coalition.

Lawal urged Wike to clarify his political allegiance prior to the 2027 elections. "You can't be in both sides," he stated. When asked if the governors were urging Wike to join the APC, Lawal affirmed, "Exactly. What's the point?" He added that he would bring up the matter with Tinubu, emphasizing the need for a clear definition of Wike's political position. Lawal reiterated that it is either a person belongs to the APC or not.
