2 key Texas A&M players remain questionable before facing LSU

Texas A&M's offense and defense prepare to bounce back this weekend against No. 10 LSU, after a disappointing home loss to Kentucky 31-21 in Week 4. This appears to be the worst outcome since third-year head coach Mike Elko took over. Elko emphasized that there were no positives to take from the loss, in contrast to previous comments suggesting a silver lining.

Head coach Elko also confirmed that the Aggies are practicing well and starting quarterback Marcel Reed is focusing on throwing freely, a marked improvement from his performance against Kentucky, where he threw two interceptions and missed several easy passes.

The Aggies will wear their white helmets, maroon jerseys, and maroon pants for the first time since a victory over Arkansas in 2024. While the uniform choice might not be of great importance to all fans, it adds a fun element to the game. On Thursday, the injury report remained unchanged for Texas A&M: redshirt sophomore wide receiver Ashton Bethel-Roman and sophomore running back Jamarion Morrow are listed as questionable, with a 50% chance to play.

Only wide receiver Terry Bussey is ruled out for the season. Freshman running back KJ Edwards, however, is back on the field and is anticipated to make a significant impact on the Aggie rushing attack during the Saturday night matchup against LSU. The next two days prior to the game will reveal whether Bethel-Roman and Morrow will be available to play, but for the Aggies to pull off an upset, they will need every player contributing their best effort.
