Zelenskyy: Russian Ballistic Strike Hits Kyiv During Meeting With US Congressmen on Graham Sanctions Bill

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy revealed that Russian ballistic missiles struck Kyiv while he was meeting with U.S. congressmen to debate Senator Lindsey Graham's sanctions bill, emphasizing the critical need for greater pressure on Moscow. The attack occurred during sleep, with explosions illuminating the night sky, primarily targeting residential buildings, a maternity hospital, energy facilities, and logistics infrastructure in Kyiv.

Two fatalities have been confirmed, along with additional injuries. Zelenskyy expressed condolences to the affected families and stressed that such incidents continue due to insufficient pressure on the aggressor, as Russia relies on ballistic terror. During the meeting, Zelenskyy discussed defense strategies against these attacks with a group of U.S. Representatives, including Brian Fitzpatrick, Mike Quigley, Marcy Kaptur, Jared Golden, Joe Wilson, and Gregory Meeks.

He urged for the implementation of ballistic missile interceptors to safeguard lives and called for total sanctions against Russia and its allies. The Russian strikes also caused damage to civilian facilities in Odesa, with injuries reported in Khmelnytskyi and Kharkiv regions, primarily affecting farm workers.
