Vietnam prepares communications campaign for APEC 2027

Vietnam has announced plans for a comprehensive communications campaign ahead of the 2027 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum, which will be held in the country for the third time. The event will be a significant opportunity for Vietnam to assert its position on the global stage and promote its image, according to Dang Khac Loi, deputy director of the Press Department under the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.

The theme of the 2027 APEC summit is "Creating the Era of Resilience, Innovation, and Prosperity," which emphasizes the country's experience in international integration, economic restructuring, and connecting ASEAN with the broader Asia-Pacific region. The communication strategy will focus on highlighting areas such as AI, digital economy, green growth, and demographics, while ensuring that these topics do not overshadow the core economic and trade foundations of APEC.

Infrastructure developed for the APEC event should be viewed as having long-term value and use, contributing to the development of regions like Phu Quoc and An Giang, and supporting the country's socioeconomic growth. The APEC forum, established in 1989 with 12 founding members, now has 21 member economies and accounts for approximately 37% of the world's population, 61% of global GDP, and 46% of global trade in goods and services.
