US-Iran War News Live: Iran cancels flights as sanctions hit, Indian seafarer killed in strike off Oman coast

On the 208th day of the US-Iran war, tensions escalated as Iran announced the cancellation of several flights due to tightened sanctions. President Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran stated that the country is "ready for dialogue, diplomacy, and negotiations" but insists it will not accept "the language of force." In contrast, US President Donald Trump threatened military action if a deal is not reached soon.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio revealed that a deal with Iran would require significant effort and that President Trump has several options at his disposal, including military options.

The US has threatened secondary sanctions against countries allowing Iranian flights after Wednesday. Iran's Supreme National Security Council Secretary Moheen Rezaei warned neighboring countries that they could face airport disruptions if they cease Iranian flights. Iran and the US engaged in indirect talks on Tuesday, mediated by Qatar, during which Iran presented conditions for peace, such as an end to the war, a halt to US aggression, and the release of frozen Iranian assets.

In a separate incident, an Indian seafarer, Wiper Suraj Yadav from Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, lost his life when the merchant vessel MV Cape Dao was attacked off the coast of Oman. The Indian Embassy in Oman confirmed the tragic loss, and 19 people were rescued from the vessel. In response to the escalating conflict, Iran's airlines suspended some international flights, and Georgia and Azerbaijan officially announced the suspension of their flights.
