UAE's National Human Rights Institution approves two new committees

The National Human Rights Institution (NHRI) of the UAE has approved the creation of two new committees to bolster its organizational framework and uphold its role in safeguarding human rights. The first committee will concentrate on rights and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), while the second will handle complaints, monitoring, and field visits.

This strategic move aligns with international standards and reinforces the Institution's commitment to promoting rights and fostering a culture of human rights with efficiency, independence, and long-term sustainability. The decision was made during the third meeting of the Board of Trustees in its second term, chaired by Dr. Salem Suhail Al Neyadi and attended by government representatives for the first time in the current term.
