TotalEnergies appoints Sameh Kokash as Vice President Refining & Chemicals Qatar and Business Development & AOBO Gas in Qatar

Doha, Qatar - TotalEnergies has appointed Sameh Kokash as the new Vice President for Refining and Chemicals in Qatar, as well as Business Development and AOBO Gas (Assets Operated by Others - Gas). This appointment takes effect in September 2026, following the departure of Amir Kabbej who is relocating to a new position in France.

Kokash will be responsible for overseeing TotalEnergies' downstream operations in Qatar, including its stakes in QAPCO, Qatofin, RLOC, and Laffan Refineries. Additionally, he will manage partnerships with QatarEnergy, QatarEnergy LNG, and Dolphin Energy.

With nearly two decades of experience at TotalEnergies since joining in 2007, Kokash has held various leadership roles across the exploration and production (E&P) value chain. These roles have spanned Well Performance, Process Engineering, and Design Engineering. Most recently, he served as Senior Business Development Manager in Refining & Petrochemicals Orient, where he helped drive strategic opportunities throughout the MENA region.

Kokash earned his Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland and recently completed an Executive MBA at INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France. In his new role, he expressed excitement about joining the TotalEnergies Qatar team during a defining time and building on the strong partnerships with QatarEnergy LNG, Dolphin Energy, QAPCO, Qatofin, RLOC, and Laffan Refineries.

He emphasized his commitment to ensuring safe and reliable operations, while also looking forward to shaping a future of shared growth and innovation in line with Qatar National Vision 2030. Kokash also expressed his desire to deepen the trust and collaboration that have long defined their relationship with QatarEnergy.
