Tinubu can work anywhere, Nigeria is evolving – Zamfara Gov

Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has defended President Bola Tinubu's decision to continue working while away from Nigeria. Speaking on Channels Television's Inside Sources, Lawal defended the President's absence from the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), amid criticism of the President's recent trips.

Lawal clarified that the President had indicated that his trip was a working leave, meaning he would maintain his official duties while away. He stated, "When the President travelled, he made it very clear that he was going on a working leave. Wherever the President is, he is working for Nigeria."

The governor also noted that technological advancements have enabled government officials to work effectively from various locations. "Nigeria is evolving, and the President can work anywhere. That is why we are investing so much in technology, to be able to work wherever you are," Lawal added. He dismissed concerns over the President working from outside the country, emphasizing that there was nothing controversial about the arrangement.

"I don’t see that to be any controversial because he is not just resting, he is working for Nigeria," Lawal concluded.
