The Beast In Me Renewed For Season 2 At Netflix, With Claire Danes Returning To Star

Netflix has renewed the Emmy-winning thriller The Beast in Me for a second season, with main stars Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys set to reprise their roles. The renewed deal comes after the streamer found a worthy story for the first season, according to co-executive producer Howard Gordon. The show follows book author Aggie Wiggs, played by Danes, as she deals with writer's block and becomes fascinated by infamous murder suspect Nile Jarvis, portrayed by Rhys.

The series, which premiered on Netflix in November, earned nine Emmy nominations, including one for Danes. However, Rhys will not be returning for Season 2 as Nile was arrested and killed in prison in the Season 1 finale. Netflix's head of scripted series Jinny Howe expressed pride in the series' success and looks forward to the next chapter with Howard Gordon and the cast and crew.
